Featuring in a swagger of renowned cult films including Lonesome Cowboys, Flesh and Trash, Dallesandro's dangerous street mentality and raw erotic power became captivating to gay and straight audiences alike. An image of Dallesandro's bare torso made up the cover of The Smiths' debut album, a close-up of his bulging blue jeans graced a rolling Rolling Stones record, and he even a scored mention in the Lou Reed track ‘Walk on the Wild Side’.
