THE SLAVE, THE PRINCE & THE PRIEST

Currently in early-development, short film production The Slave, The Prince & The Priest is an Australian production written in the Portuguese-language, and to be filmed in Brazil. The short film follows the journey of three men from very different backgrounds, examines power and privilege, and is twisted with themes of forbidden love, blackmail and abuse.

THREE MAIN ROLES​

The Prince. Male. 18–35 years old. Portuguese or Brazilian. A young nobleman raised in wealth, power, and strict tradition. Well-spoken and poised, he is accustomed to authority but harbours doubts about the world he’s inherited. Beneath his entitlement lies a thoughtful, conflicted man grappling with guilt, desire and a growing disillusionment with colonial rule. Dialogue in Portuguese, must speak and understand English. Required for 2-days, pay rate is AUD$500 per day.

The Priest. Male. 30–45 years old. White/European. A mature figure with an unwavering belief in his church’s moral order. Cold but composed, he serves as the voice of religious and societal tradition within the story. Should be comfortable delivering formal or period-style dialogue. Required for 2-days, pay rate is AUD$500 per day.

The Slave. Male. 18–35 years old. Black/African. A powerful, athletic man who holds onto his dignity and pride even in chains. Emotionally layered, this is a mostly silent role requiring nuance and presence. A strong and athletic body is preferred. No prominent tattoos. Must be comfortable performing a nude scene. Dialogue in Portuguese, must speak and understand English. Required for 2-days, pay rate is AUD$500 per day.

JOB DETAILS

Must be over 18-years-old to collaborate on this project.

Must be available for online auditions, rehearsals and to-be-confirmed filming dates in November/December.

Previous acting experience preferred, but not essential.

Must be open to working closely with director.

Required to sign a standard release form to appear in the film.

Finished film will appear at Film Festivals around the world.
