Independent production company is searching for a Melbourne-based actor to play the role of a online-famous influencer in upcoming independent short film, and pays $250 for 1-2 hours filming. No acting experience required.

A psychologically-driven short film exploring masculinity, loneliness, influencer culture, body image, and performance in the digital age. Running time is about 7-10 minutes. Micro-budget, independent short by Award-winning Australian filmmaker. Micro crew. Project considered for international film festivals and online sales.

  • INFLUENCER ROLE 'JAX' (18-35yo): Jax is a successful online fitness influencer (think Ashton Hall meets Jimbo Cooper meets Clavicular) who lives alone inside a vast concrete warehouse loft, broadcasting highly stylised “morning routine” livestreams to his millions of followers. Character is disciplined, aspirational and physically confident. Dramatic protagonist role. There is some nudity required for this role. This job pays $250 for 1-2 hours filming.

The film itself is a widescreen behind-the-scenes look at creating online influencer videos, as well as showing the inherent loneliness of the protagonist. Filming to take place in August in Melbourne. Filmic references include American Psycho, Shame, Nightcrawler.

  • Actor must be available for half-day filming in Melbourne in August.

  • Confidence working directly to camera. A natural acting ability.

  • Comfort with long-form dramatic monologues.

  • Comfort portraying physical confidence and body-conscious performance culture. Must be confident, professional with scenes involving nudity.

  • Comfortable with themes of body dysmorphia, loneliness, mental health, and suicide.

  • This is a fully-credited and paid role.
